The 8th Activist of Tinyseed (ATS) orientation was held

On Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m., the 8th ATS Volunteer Orientation was held at the TinySeed Hall. A total of six volunteers participated in this 8th session. The orientation began with an introduction to the TinySeed sponsorship program by Secretary General Shin Chin-ho. Afterwards, the volunteers had time to get to know each other by introducing themselves.

The local volunteer activities in Myanmar, which had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing civil war in the country, will resume with the 8th ATS members. We will be preparing the volunteer activities to be carried out in Myanmar with the aim of visiting the country in October.

We ask for your interest and encouragement for the 8th ATS volunteer members who are starting anew. If you would like to support the ATS, please contact the Tiny Seeds Secretariat.

Khanin Mountain Education Center offers summer vacation special classes in English and computer education

The Khanin Mountain Education Center, supported by TinySeed, is offering English and computer education to students and residents during the summer vacation (March-May). A total of 21 people are participating in this education, which is divided into elementary school and secondary school-adult classes, and they are enjoying their studies.

The entire country of Myanmar has been in a difficult situation for three years now, with only about eight hours of electricity a day due to the civil war. However, all residents are actively volunteering to care for children for their education. We ask for your interest and support so that all participating students can have a fulfilling summer vacation and nurture their dreams for the future.

Ghagopur Education Center on the verge of forced eviction

In February, we shared the miraculous story of how the Ghagopur Education Center in India is changing not only the lives of the children in the red-light district but also the lives of their mothers through our newsletter.

The education center, which started with just a dozen children, is now home to 40 children who are safely living and nurturing their dreams from morning to night thanks to the dedication and warm care of the teachers.

Unfortunately, however, the education center recently received some unfortunate news.

The children's hopes

vanished due to the government's forced eviction

For several years, there had been talk that the government would demolish the red-light district buildings in the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai, but no one knew exactly when that would happen.

Then, on February 4, the government suddenly demolished these small alleys in the middle of the night. The Ghatkopar Education Center, which is currently in operation, will also have to close in April.

People standing on the street,The future of children has become uncertain.

Due to the forced evictions, working women and the extremely poor were forced to leave their homes overnight and move onto the streets.

The most unfortunate news is that the children who had been safely cared for at the Tiny Seed Education Center will now have to move to another red-light district with their mothers.

There is no shelter that safely cares for the children of red-light district women. Where will these children go?

The children are following their mothers' hands and scattering to other red-light districts.

In collaboration with the local NGO Purnatah, Tiny Seeds is planning to set up an education center in another part of Mumbai to provide a safe space for the children of red-light district women. Tiny Seeds is looking for a sponsor to help us with this project.

Please support the education of children
